GIS Application Tool for Mobile Platforms
Kalčík, Vojtěch ; Smrčka, Aleš (referee) ; Hrubý, Martin (advisor)
This master's thesis with draft of GIS tool for mobile platforms. The resulting program will be adapted for collection of geographic data in the field. The program will work with standard file formats for GIS. High emphasis is put on the control, which is particular for mobile devices with capacitive display. The program will be designed for both smartphone and tablet. Explanation of the mapping principle and description of geographic information systems are also parts of the thesis.
The Digitisation and Visualisation of Historical Globes
Kowalski, Michal
The Digitization and Visualisation of Historical Globes Abstract The aim of this thesis is to design and verify in practice (semi)automated way of digi- talisation of historical globes. Problematics of point cloud is secured by program Agisoft PhotoScan. The subsequent image processing (data filtering, interpolation, edge enhancement) are performed by own program in Matlab. The result is a universal methodology digitization Globes applicable in almost all cases. As input are included in photos of globe and the output is a raster or mosaic grid showing the surface of the globe. The result is presented in the form of a virtual model of the globe. The methods are described in detail, including mathematical foundations and are subject to criticism. Key words: historical globes, photogrammetry, map projection, image correlation, Matlab

Maps creation from image data of the Mars surface
Kopecký, Kamil ; Kolář, Jan (advisor) ; Čábelka, Miroslav (referee)
Spectral behavior of Mars altimetry Abstract The goals of this thesis are research of cartography of Mars and the problems connected with it. The second goal is the creation of the maps of Mars's surface and lastly the analysis of the surface elevation and its spectral behavior. Firstly, the thesis outlines the theoretical part which includes usage of reference bodies, coordinates systems, cartographic projections and prime meridian. Second, it features the methodical procedure of creating the maps and the analysis. Key words: map projection, image data, Mars surface, thematic maps
